St. Marys' Erin Quintanilla successfully has balanced the rigors
of high school academics and athletics with those of mothering a 2-
year-old boy

For the last two-plus years, St. Marys senior Erin Quintanilla has
balanced the roles of student, athlete and mother after giving birth
to son, Eric, in 1999. Quintanilla earned All-State honors last year
as a catcher for the state-champion Bears.
