Article: Kansas Highway Patrol wins international award

For its efforts enforcing traffic laws and educating the public about transportation safety, the Kansas Highway Patrol was honored last month at an international law enforcement convention in Toronto.

The highway patrol won first place among state agencies with 251 to 500 officers during the 2000 National Chiefs Challenge, sponsored by the International Association of Chiefs of Police. The IACP held its annual conference Oct. 27-31 in Toronto.
