Grand Chute - The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point's
national title hopes imploded in the span of two gruesome innings
Monday at Fox Cities Stadium.
A total of 12 Emory University batters went to the plate in the
fifth inning. Nine reached base, including three on walks and one
after being hit by a pitch. Seven runs scored - on five hits.
A total of 14 Emory batters went to the plate in the sixth
inning. Twelve reached base, including four on walks, two on errors,
one after being hit by a pitch and one on a fielder's choice. 10
runs scored - on four hits.
Those two innings turned a six-run lead into an 11-run deficit
