Fast starts helped fuel the recent surge of the Colorado Springs
Sky Sox, who had won 11 of their past 12 home games.
Sacramento turned the tables on the Sky Sox on Friday en route to
an 8-1 victory before 3,820 fans at Security Service Field.
Jason Perry slugged a first-inning grand slam to give the River
Cats a 4-0 lead and Sacramento pitcher Kazuhito Tadano struck out
the first six Sky Sox hitters to set a tone that never was altered.
"(Tadano) has got our number, I know that," Sky Sox manager Tom
Runnells said. "We've been playing pretty well and when we score
first, we've got a pretty de- cent record."
