IRAQ'S biggest and most radical Shia group is now prime suspect
for the kidnapping of five Britons in Baghdad. The Iraqi government
named the Mahdi Army as the group it believes seized the five an IT
expert and his four ex-army bodyguards. Iraqi foreign minister
Hoshyar Zebari said the Mahdi Army was most likely to be behind the
abduction from Iraq's finance ministry. Mr Zebari said: "There are
suspicions that it might be the Mahdi Army because the location of
the kidnapping is in their theatre of operations."
His views came as efforts to find the five were stepped up. It
was revealed that one of the bodyguards' colleagues had fled the
