Article: Romeo pads up for Juliet ; The Londoner's Diary

FIRST it was announced that Lord's was to be an archery venue during the 2012 Olympics, now plans are being finalised to turn the pavilion balcony, until recently a strictly male preserve, into a stage for a Shakespeare Globe production of Romeo and Juliet.

The performance will take place in front of the pavilion with around 500 people on the outfield and pavilion concourse, on Sunday 2 September. It will be part of the Globe's first tour, which will also include performances at Leeds Castle and Wadham College, Oxford.
