Article: Artists plan protest on public art policy; They say proposal touted as more efficient would put decisions in hands of city, not residents

Chicago artists are not known for their ability to agree on
issues and act collectively. But if a consortium of angry local
artists has its way, that's about to change.
The Chicago Artists' Coalition, art advocate Paul Klein and
artists Tony Fitzpatrick, Wesley Kimler and others are organizing a
rally in front of the Picasso sculpture in Daley Plaza at 5:30 p.m.
Monday to protest a proposed change to the city's public art
ordinance.
The revised ordinance, scheduled for a final vote by the City
Council on Wednesday, would do away with the grassroots citizen
panels that currently play the key role in deciding public art
