Getaway for June 10 - Green Lake
Green Lake, as has been said of wells, is a deep subject. In
fact, no other Wisconsin natural inland lake is deeper, and that's
just the start of what sets Green Lake apart.
What to do: There is a rich history of summer recreation in Green
Lake, long a hot weather refuge for the swells of Chicago. Not for
nothing is one of the main streets called Illinois Ave., but the
community of about 1,000 welcomes Wisconsin residents as guests as
well. And in these days of usurious gas prices, its location, just
90 minutes from Milwaukee, is another bonus.
