Peter Drew's distinguished career in construction, housing and commercial property development culminated in three years as chairman of the Taylor Woodrow Group of companies, 1989-93. In 1969 he had helped to conceive and promote the internationally renowned St Katharine's Dock redevelopment in London's docklands - in the British context a pioneering commercial, residential and leisure community - situated on the waterfront just to the east of Tower Bridge.
