BOSTON -- Barry Bonds came to Fenway Park like a tourist with a
checklist. Now he can brag to his friends that he hit one over the
Green Monster, even if it was during batting practice.
He and the Giants accomplished little else in a 9-2 loss to the
Boston Red Sox Friday night. Been there, done that.
Bonds hooked a drive just outside the right field pole, Mark
Sweeney's lifelong dream of playing at Yawkey Way was marred by a
costly botched rundown, and Barry Zito did enough things wrong to
earn himself a meeting in the manager's office.
Zito's outing might be the most concerning development of the
night. He threw 110 pitches in 5 innings, walked four, was charged
