In the multitude of Christian men standing and praying
together during a Promise Keepers "sacred assembly" yesterday,
clusters stood out based on the yellow, red, white and green of
their hats and T-shirts rather than the color of their skin. And
that left some men extremely pleased.
In keeping with a call for racial reconciliation and a
challenge to attend the assembly with a man of a different race,
multiracial groups arrived by bus, plane and van from around the
nation to show the world that they are one in Christ.
"The color of our skin is just the house we're in," said Mark
Wade, 43, a black pediatrician from New Jersey. "When men are
following Jesus Christ, color is secondary. ...
