When it comes to sexy, fish packed in jars of sour cream may not
be the first thing that comes to mind.
Kim Wall wants to change that.
"I just figured I'd use the traditional way of making things
fun," she said. "Sex."
Wall owns local herring producer Ma Baensch in the Riverwest
neighborhood. This year, the company marks 75 years since Lena "Ma"
Baensch started selling herring in Milwaukee.
For generations, herring was a mainstay for occasions such as
holidays and deer hunting. It's something your grandparents probably
snacked on or set out for gatherings.
