Article: R.S.V.P.; Vereen makes a pitch for being accessible

In 1992, when singer and dancer Ben Vereen was hit by a car and subsequently suffered a stroke, doctors told him it would be at least three years before he would be able to walk again. But 10 months after his near-fatal accident, he was back performing. His recovery was long, arduous and still continues today. But, says Vereen, a major healing factor for him was the promise of being able to work again. That and his faith and spirit helped him recover.
