OAKLAND -- The A's were having a miserable road trip before closing it out with wins Saturday and Sunday at Yankee Stadium.

It appears the Toronto Blue Jays are intent on following the same script.

Having won just two of their previous seven road games coming into Monday's game against the A's, the Jays scored six runs in the third inning, had 16 hits and eventually held on to an 11-7 victory before a crowd of 13,281 at McAfee Coliseum.

Frank Thomas was 3-for-5 with two RBIs and a run in his first game in Oakland since signing with Toronto in the offseason.

His efforts, along with Vernon Wells' four hits, helped the Jays
