Article: Looking good ; Number of new vehicles titled in county up 1.4% in '07

The number of new vehicles titled in El Paso County through June was up by 163 over the first half of last year. That's 1.4 percent - - not a lot, but a promising sign for local dealers, who last year posted the lowest number of vehicles titled here in eight years.

The slight increase is a positive indicator for the remainder of the year, said Mike Cimino, a manager with Phil Long Dealerships, a locally based auto group.

Auto sales are usually more robust in the second half of the year, Cimino said: "We're in the middle of the year's heaviest selling season. Our dealerships had the biggest June ever."
