Article: Dow Jones Reconsidering Data Service Overhaul

Dow Jones & Co. said today it is reviewing whether to continue with a $650 million revamping of its troubled Dow Jones Markets financial information service, prompting speculation that the unit could be for sale.

Dow Jones spokesman Richard Tofel said company management and the board of directors were "engaged in a review of that plan and various alternatives concerning Dow Jones Markets."

Tofel would not specify what those alternatives might be and said Dow Jones has not been displeased with the unit's performance.
