JOHN Grogan's dog memoir Marley Me: Life and Love with the World's Worst Dog, was one of the surprise hits of last year. In the States, it's never been out of the bestseller lists, totalling more than three million copies, with the film to come next year.

Even in the UK, it sold an amazing 300,000 in hardback and the paperback, just out (Hodder, 7.99), promises to do even better.
