Article: Get neighborly at Black Forest event ; Festival features pancake breakfast, parade, auction

It's a party in the pines.

The Black Forest Festival, a decades-old event celebrating the character of this northern El Paso County community, returns Saturday with music, a parade, an auction, games and food -- lots of food.

The festival, expected to draw 3,000 to 4,000 people, brings neighbors together, said Ron Brown, a member of the Black Forest Community Club, which organizes the event.

"There is a neighborliness out here in the Black Forest that you don't find very many other places," Brown said.
