Article: Along the Father Road: 'Lincoln Highway' still has its fans

IF YOU THINK of a classic American highway, the words "Route 66" spring to your lips almost automatically. Yet another road -- an older road, a longer road, and a historic road much more important to Northern California -- has gotten the short end of the dipstick for too many years.

And as far as Michael Wallis and other diehard Lincoln Highway fans are concerned, the Lincoln Highway -- which stretches from New York's Broadway to San Francisco's Golden Gate -- has been asphalt's ugly stepsister for far too long.
