What does the food editor eat when she goes to State Fair?
Arggh, do I have to tell you?
First of all, I'm a creature of habit. Got my favorites, got my
route, gotta have each food at least once during the run of the
fair.
Second, as much as I personally promote the eating of seven to
nine vegetables a day and whole-grain everything, all health
concerns get checked at the gate when I get to the fairgrounds.
Not that all the foods I choose to eat are unhealthy. But, well,
what's actually in a corn dog, anyway?
My cravings usually lead me first to a food that is, in fact,
nutritious: the humble potato. The baked potatoes sold in the
