PRINCETON-BY-THE-SEA -- Princeton residents and businesses had reason to doubt that Harbor Village, an upscale hotel-and-retail development overlooking Pillar Point Harbor, would ever emerge from the planning stages.

Now they are watching the sea-colored complex -- the largest commercial development ever to come to the Midcoast -- go through its finishing touches before it opens in late fall.
