I WOULD LOVE to see Travel examine an airline practice that takes
a bad situation and makes it worse. I refer to passengers who insist
on reclining their seats practically into the laps of those seated
behind them.
With so many flights full and almost no personal space left on
today's planes, it is really inconsiderate when someone does this.
Yet the airlines actually encourage it. At the beginning of almost
every flight, the pilot or flight attendant will urge passengers to
"sit back and relax." Well, it isn't relaxing when some oblivious
jerk invades your space.
It is no solution to recline your seat also. I don't like being
forced to sit in a prone position, and it is almost impossible to ...
