AS I SIT at gate 65 of San Francisco International Airport, I
wonder what is in store for me at my first Mercedes Benz Fashion
Week. More than that, I anticipate the adventures ahead of me in my
first trip to New York.
Yes, you heard that right. I have never been to New York. As a
fashion columnist/blogger, a hex should be put on me for claiming to
be "hip and stylish" and not having visited one of the fashion
capitals of the world -- but you'll get over it.
By the time you read this column, I already will have gone to
some fabulous fashion shows in New York's Bryant Park, then back to
my civic duties as a fancy Bay Area journalist. That said, I can't
