The men of war have spoken, and they say we need more.
That's why I went to see Jerry Nowak on Tuesday to talk instead
about peace. Makes us both dreamers, I suppose.
"I'm doing my thing. In my faith we are obligated to make a
difference in the world, make a better world," Jerry, 85, says.
His thing is to collect quotes and wisdom and to put it out there
in newspaper ads, sometimes covering a full page and costing him
thousands of dollars.
Each one is a sea of tiny but quite lucid print, far more than
many people will bother to read in this era of sound bites. He
understands and laments how apathetic and blissfully uninformed
Americans have become. But he perseveres in his passion to change ...
