Virginia Tech and Miami entertained a capacity crowd of 53,177 at Lane Stadium tonight with one spectacular offensive play after another. But the crowd didn't have to be reminded that defense usually wins football games. A combination of defense and special teams gave the 20th-ranked Hokies a 27-25 victory over the Hurricanes.
