Suzann Stewart became a professional musician while still in high school, a line of work she continued even after obtaining her degree in music education and teaching in the Tulsa Public School system in the mid-1970s.

After singing with some famous artists in bands, operas and musical theater for several years, her band was named the opening act for Discoveryland Theater in the summer of 1976.

"Oklahoma! followed the next year. After appearing in the show and a touring production, I was offered the marketing director position, which I accepted. And, after a few years there, I moved on to the chamber, where I've found my niche," Stewart said.
