DARIUS KNIGHT occupies himself with some gentle practice in a
converted brewery in Brick Lane while all around him preparations
are being made for a weekend tournament.
The extent to which young Darius is being charitable in his brief
knock-up against the Evening Standard only becomes clear afterwards.
It transpires that during the rallies the ball drifts across the net
at a mere 15mph, compared to 80mph during competition and 100mph at
