Article: Murder victims' memorial tomorrow

They can't speak for themselves.

They can't call their legislators and rally Congress for tougher laws.

But tomorrow, people across the country will remember the silenced murder victims with their first official day of remembrance.

"This was a long time in the making," said Sharon Thompson, a Middle River woman whose brother was killed in 1985 in Glen Burnie.

She said those left behind by their loved ones were sentenced to "life."

"We hurt on a daily basis," Ms. Thompson said.

Locally, murder victims will be memorialized tomorrow and Wednesday in the lobby of the State's Attorney's Office inside the Anne Arundel County Circuit Courthouse in Annapolis.
