Viewers around the country reported that the audio and video weren't in sync, and that the picture froze or went black altogether during the first airing of the first part at 7 p.m. Sunday, Milwaukee time.

Ellis Bromberg, Milwaukee Public TV's general manager, first noticed the problem Sunday night.

"I was watching it from home, realizing there wasn't much I could do about it," he says.
