A convicted child killer is facing prosecution for the murder of
missing Westcountry schoolgirl Genette Tate - more than 29 years
after she disappeared from a country lane while delivering
newspapers on her bicycle.
For the first time in Britain's longest-running missing-person
case, police have submitted a file to the Crown Prosecution Service,
asking it to consider charges.
The move follows an interview conducted with Robert Black, who is
serving a life term in jail for the abduction and murder of three
young girls, and the abduction of a 15-year-old girl.
Black was seen by detectives in 2005 and it is thought officers
have since been cross-checking evidence before deciding whether to
