With some Texas swing in its step, Asleep at the Wheel came to
dinner Aug. 15 and wowed a sold-out crowd of 220 with boot-stomping
after-dinner entertainment.
The Grammy winners capped the private opening of Nichols &
Comito's latest custom development, the 52-acre Star Ranch
community. A benefit for United Way, the "Star-Studded Night"
offered attendees an opportunity to visit with the seven-member
music group that has been on tour for an enviable 27 years and is
booked for shows, concerts and private parties through September
2008.
The evening started with guests chauffeured in new vehicles
through the rain to the featured million-dollar-plus home by members
of the Red Noland Auto Group. ...
