After a steep post-Hurricane Katrina downturn, the French Quarter Festival rebounded strongly in 2007 to claim the seventh spot in the Top 10 list of New Orleans events.

The first French Quarter Festival after the storm had an economic impact of $32 million compared with $105.5 million in 2005, a 67 percent drop, according to a study by the University of New Orleans.

It regained its financial footing with $118 million this year, a 269 percent increase over last year and a 12 percent increase over 2005.
