The quaint, red-brick house on MacArthur Boulevard in Cabin
John draws three kinds of visitors: wild birds interested in food,
hobbyists interested in wild birds, and business people interested
in hobbyists.
The birds alight in the yard beside the house, where they find
an assortment of well-stocked feeders.
The hobbyists go inside the house, which is occupied by a
retail store called the Wild Bird Center. Each week, hundreds of
customers stop in to buy seed, feeders, birdbaths, books, binoculars
and other bird-feeding supplies.
And the business people? Most of them are out-of-towners
who've come to learn tips of the retail trade from George H.
