Robert T. Angarola, 50, a lawyer who specialized in food and
drug law and who had served on the White House staff, died of
bacterial pneumonia March 4 at a hospital in Geneva. He had lived in
Washington since the 1970s and was on a business trip to Switzerland
when he died.
Mr. Angarola began his legal career in 1972 on the staff of
the White House special action office for drug abuse prevention. He
next was legal adviser to the United Nations International Narcotics
Control Board in Geneva and then returned to Washington in 1977 to
be general counsel to the White House office of drug abuse policy.
