Time to mash the doughnuts.

ABC has given little old doughnut maker David Lynch his walking papers as of tonight's final two episodes of "Twin Peaks" from 9 to 11 on Channel 5. It seems that this spring has been one obituary after another for shows that, personal taste aside, dared to be different -- "Shannon's Deal," "thirtysomething," "Twin Peaks," "China Beach" next month and -- lest we forget -- "Dallas."

The difference with "Twin Peaks," though, ...
