Article: Hillary Clinton, S&L Officials Had Talks During Key Deals; Whitewater Witness Links Contacts With Castle Grande

Newly discovered billing records detailing Hillary Rodham Clinton's legal work show that she had conferences with savings and loan officials on several dates when the S&L was involved in key real estate transactions, witnesses told the Senate Whitewater committee yesterday.

Some of those real estate matters are now under federal investigation as part of the probe into Madison Guaranty Savings & Loan, the thrift at the center of the Whitewater probe.

Patricia Black, an official with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. inspector general's office, oversaw an investigation of S&L work by the Rose Law Firm, where Hillary Clinton was a partner. She told the panel that billing records ...
