CROMWELL, Conn. -- The old claret jug is golf's most enduring
trophy, and it sits shining in a display case in the clubhouse lobby
of The Tournament Players Club at River Highlands. It was there for
everyone to see when Ian Baker-Finch won the 120th British Open
Sunday at Royal Birkdale in England, but only the privileged can
view it now.
Baker-Finch, who lost a seven-hole playoff to Bruce Fleisher in
the New England Classic July 14 at Pleasant Valley CC, showed up for
the Greater Hartford Open Monday night with the cherished jug in
