There are places I remember all my life,
though some have changed, some forever, not for
better, some have gone and some remain.

Among the places I remember all my life, although it's changed
forever, is Old Orchard Beach in Maine, and not for the beach nor the
amusements, but for the memories, because Old Orchard Beach was my
father's favorite destination for Sunday excursions with his wife and
five children.
Having worked all week in a dirty machine shop, he relished
weekend pilgrimages around New England, and after his family had
clambered into his jalopy, off we'd go for a day of fun at places
