Billy Collins never considered himself particularly unlucky. Sure, it was unfortunate that shortly after he verbally committed to Boston College, the school's basketball coach, Jim O'Brien, left town, and took the appeal of playing there with him. It certainly wasn't fortuitous when Collins signed with Rutgers, and they inked a local stud immediately after that who happened to play the same position.

But to say he was jinxed? Nah. Collins was far too optimistic to look at it that way.
