They slogged through slush to Metro stations, they shivered on
street corners looking for buses that never came and they waited
sadly for planes that never left.
On a day when many hoped that getting places would be a little
easier, Washington's rail, bus and airline passengers found travel
was still a struggle.
Today promises to be only slightly better. As many people try
to return to work today, getting a space on Metro could be more of a
challenge than it was yesterday, when some subway passengers felt as
if they'd stumbled into a rugby scrum.
Less than half of the transit system's cars were in service
yesterday, meaning trains were crammed, waits for them ranged up to
an hour ...
