The University of the District of Columbia State Education Agency
and Booker T. Washington Public Charter School will host the Fifth
Annual Walk for Literacy on Saturday. The 3K walk begins at TechWorld
Plaza, 8th and K streets NW at 9 a.m. Walkers can register in person
from noon to 2 p.m. tomorrow at Borders Books, 18th and L streets NW;
by phone at 866-832-2289; or online at www.dcadultliteracy.org.
The walk will raise funds for more than 20 D.C. adult and family
education centers that serve adult learners through such programs as
the General Educational Development test, adult basic education and
