Jim Corsi's stomach burned and his eyes welled up as he sat in a private box high above Fenway Park two months ago, in his new role as Red Sox television pregame and postgame show analyst on the New England Sports Network.

It wasn't easy for the 40-year-old Newton native to put his playing days behind him - not after two decades of professional baseball that included three seasons with the Red Sox and a World Series ring with the Oakland Athletics.
