Parents of high school seniors across the region will soon be
telling their children to go out and have fun after graduation - and
not to come home until 5 or 6 in the morning.
This is not a New Age parenting gimmick, but the all-night, post-
graduation party season when seniors are given one last opportunity
to be together at their schools. The parties are set up by parent
volunteers, who decorate a portion of the schools according to themes
ranging from a tropical paradise, to outer space, to a jungle. Most
parties run from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. in a "locked-in" setting, which
means that once the seniors are in, they cannot leave unless they
have permission from their parents.
