Article: STAYING OUT ALL NIGHT, AND SAFER FOR IT POST-GRADUATION PARTIES DESIGNED TO KEEP TEENAGERS AND ALCOHOL APART

Parents of high school seniors across the region will soon be telling their children to go out and have fun after graduation - and not to come home until 5 or 6 in the morning.

This is not a New Age parenting gimmick, but the all-night, post- graduation party season when seniors are given one last opportunity to be together at their schools. The parties are set up by parent volunteers, who decorate a portion of the schools according to themes ranging from a tropical paradise, to outer space, to a jungle. Most parties run from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. in a "locked-in" setting, which means that once the seniors are in, they cannot leave unless they have permission from their parents.
