QUINCY - Beacon Hill has approved a bill that clears the way for
a new Fenway Park to be built on the South Shore. But it won't house
the Boston Red Sox. The stadium will be for local Little Lea guers
who want to take a shot at their own Green Monster.
Acting Governor Jane Swift recently signed into law the proposal
that will allow a Quincy nonprofit group to take over planning and
development of a half-size replica of Fenway Park, complete with a
Green Monster left field wall, CITGO sign, Pesky Pole, and brick
facade.
"The best way to describe it is: `Honey, I shrunk Fenway,' " said
