Article: SCHOOL OFFICIALS TO ADDRESS NUT ALLERGIES

Local school leaders and parents will meet tonight to discuss how Amesbury Elementary School will accommodate two incoming students who have severe nut allergies.

Principal Gail Korpusik is considering making the elementary school nut-free, which would mean that no student would be allowed to bring any snacks or lunches to school that contain nut products.

That means no peanut butter and jelly.

Tonight, Korpusick will hear input from parents who have objected to a school-wide nut ban, and she hopes they will take the opportunity to hear about nut allergies from experts.
