The answer to the most important question regarding the WB's
"Family Affair" remake is yes, Mrs. Beasley is back. Buffy's beloved
dolly is in the house, albeit with a more post-millennial fashion
sense. And the answer to the second-most important question regarding
"Family Affair" is yes, the producers do use the same sappy theme
song as the 1960s original.
Of course, there is little question regarding the entertainment
value of the show, which premieres tonight in a not-so-special
hourlong episode at 8 on WLVI-TV, Channel 56. It's the quintessential
bad idea, a project that was doomed to creative mediocrity the minute
it got the green light, which probably happened because some WB ...
