On Saturday night, newlyweds Andre Previn and Anne-Sophie Mutter stood in the limelight in Symphony Hall and embraced while the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the audience applauded their performance of the concerto that Previn wrote for his favorite violinist in 2001.

Monday morning at 10 a.m., Previn and Mutter were back onstage, but everything looked different. Deutsche Grammophon had recorded Saturday night's performance for release on CD next year after Previn and Mutter record the Korngold Concerto to fill out the CD. Now violinist, conductor, and the BSO were assembled for a "patch session" to redo anything they weren't happy with in the live concert performance.
