From Brockton High in Division 1 to Blue Hills Regional in Division 6, playoff football fever spread like a bad case of senioritis through the halls of 12 Eastern Massachusetts schools this week. It's a fever many in Central Massachusetts are hoping to catch next year.

Led by Ray Cosenza, the head coach at Fitchburg High and a member of the Central Mass. Football Coaches Committee, there is a major push underway to create a two-tiered playoff system in Central Mass., similar to the one being used in Eastern Mass.
