Article: LEONARD L. SANDERS, AT 76; LED BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU

Leonard L. Sanders - former president of the Better Business Bureaus serving Eastern Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont - died Wednesday of liver cancer at his son's house in Marlborough. He was 76.

Born in Philadelphia, Mr. Sanders was raised in an orphanage. In 1942, he entered the US Army Air Corps, where he served as a pilot during World War II. In 1946, he was honorably discharged after surviving a plane crash in which the rest of the crew was killed.

Following the war, he attended and graduated from the University of Miami.
