Every day, Stephanie Janis rides at least three horses around the indoor riding ring she shares with her sister in Groton. Janis grew up in Burlington with a horse in the backyard of her parents' home in a modest subdivision.

"When I think back about the horse in my parents' backyard, and look at the neighborhood now, I laugh," she said. Janis explained that those Burlington neighbors probably wouldn't want a horse there now.

That change in sentiment is being repeated in Groton.
